Niche Modern
I don’t know what it is about Beacon, New York these days. This is the second post this month about a great business based out of Beacon (and another glass blower at that).
A little while back, an interior designer friend of mine told me about Niche Modern and I’ve been dying to run up to their shop ever since. Luckily, they have a beautiful website from where you can purchase their whole line.
They create the beautiful glass chandeliers, domes, and table lamps on site , but their light bulbs (from a supplier) are awesome as well- of which you’ll soon be able to buy replacement bulbs through them. Each design is hand blown, making them quite individual (Niche equates them to snowflakes). The beauty of the lighting rests in the blending of simple clean shapes and rich coloring. Their work has been featured in interior/lifestyle magazines, such as Wallpaper, Real Simple and Domino, as well as many design oriented websites. The pieces are so special that by installing just one, a room can very easily be transformed to a whole new mood. It’s no wonder why these beauties have become a popular insider’s ace for interior designers in recent years.
