The Agile Rabbit
I don’t know where I’d be without my collection of Agile Rabbit/Pepin Press reference books (BTW, this is not an advertisement). I’m in the habit of checking every bookstore for new editions wherever I go. I pick them up no matter what the subject of the volume- I’m sure that I’ll use it somewhere down the line.
Not only does the collection have everything from pattern and graphic art references, photography, web design, packaging and display design, and historical reference, each book comes with a CD of all the images inside. This makes for very easy use when designing on the computer. So, for creating graphic art, presentations, designing fresh web pages, and such, these books give me references that go way beyond the old clip art standards of the past. All the content in these books are clean and clear- hi res and low res, depending on your needs.
The Pepin Press started in 1990 as a one-man design and book production operation in Malasia by Pepin van Roojen, who returned to his native home of Amsterdam in 1994, where Pepin Press was incorporated.
In 1998 Pepin began the Agile Rabbit editions, which are the wonderful series that I obsessively collect. Coming from a design background, Pepin really understood designer’s needs and fully embraced the technology in which they work. The accompanying CD’s have been a highly successful selling point which other design industry publishers have since adopted.
