Best Made Co.
The company name says it all- Best Made. To take something as old fashioned and mundane as an axe and made it so fresh that you want it like you did the first time you saw the iPhone, hey, that’s an achievement. Beautiful, yes, but these babies are also top quality. All Best Made’s axes are made individually to order, of handles made of Tennessee hickory, hand painted and varnished with heads of fine-grain steel, and shipped in a hand-made wooden crates.
The philosophies behind these works of art go well beyond the idea of a simple lumberjack’s tool. It goes full circle. The Best Made axe symbolizes the reason to make the axe in the first place. The love and enthusiasm for nature, hard work, good design, and a well-made tool is the foundation on which Peter Buchanan Smith and Graeme Cameron started the company. Funny enough, the company is based right in downtown New York City (the very heart of lumberjack country). No worries though, they’re available on the internet, by phone/email, or at their shop.

This is a definite for my wall, as much as I would want to use it, I will just
use my cheap Craftsmans Ax.
I feel the same way! I really want one (or 2 or 3), but I think I’d have a hard time tossing it in with all the other tools in the garage.
