Mid-Century Seed Sack Graphics
Capital Brand Red Clover & Northland Seeds
Not that these have the nostalgic quality of the Depression Era feed sacks from an earlier post , but the bold branded graphics are great. These are mid century 1900′s, most likely from the late 1950′s-early 1960′s, all farm crop seeds.
They all originate from seed supply companies based in the grain belt (Iowa, Minnesota, Illinois, Nebraska). Made out of very heavy 100% cotton burlap, they were made to be used again, but not as clothing, like the Depression Era feed sacks. Farmers would save these to be either returned to the seed company or for reuse around the farm. One way or another, they were made to last- I imagine they’re as sturdy today as they were when first delivered full of seed.
