For Brooklyn-based furniture and interior design studio Nightwood, everything old is wonderfully new again. Co-designers and owners Myriah Scruggs and Nadia Yaron create one-of-a-kind, all natural, hand-built, furniture and textiles. But this work is not just designed and created. Each piece is built from salvaged, dismantled, and reconstructed vintage furniture and found items.

Don’t mistaken Nightwood’s pieces for just salvage yard finds. Beyond a little raw edge here and there, and some deliberately odd-fitting seams, Nightwoods designs are all gracefully proportioned elegant pieces.  The beautiful “imperfections” are also what people are clamoring to get. Nightwood has a waiting list a mile long and a growing client list, including Michelle Williams.

The two woman’s strengths complement each others. While both have eyes for furniture and wood in need of a second chance, Myriah finds her kinship more with the heavier pieces- cabinets, tables, and built-ins. Nadia is more at home with the textiles, rugs and chairs. Together, they can redesign the interiors of your home as well as furnish each room.
