Pointer Shoes | Treat Your Feet

Written by Andrew Payne on April 26, 2010
Fashion, Menswear, Womenswear

I found my first pair of Pointer footwear last Spring at American Rag in L.A. and have been nuts over them ever since.  They’ve been on my feet so often that I’ll be ready for a replacement pair soon enough. As Shepard Fairey notes on his site- “The MAY DAY show will be the first opportunity to pick up these new screen prints based on paintings I did for the show. There will be a very limited release of  each of the Iggy Pop and Debbie Harry prints signed by them at the show… extra [...]

Vintage Levi’s Shirts

Written by Andrew Payne on April 21, 2010

Written by Andrew Payne on April 14, 2010
Film, Photos, USA, Vintage

Faye Dunaway and George Maharis (both looking extremely cool) making an important call on the set of “The Happening. (photo via Corbis) With the proliferation of cell phones, we loose out on those private moments our parents had during their public phone calls.  Nowadays, we’re all out-and-about, with the world sharing in on our conversations.

Robert Mars | Visual Storyteller | Chronicles of Americana

Written by Andrew Payne on April 12, 2010
Art, NYC, Photos, USA, Vintage

I would be surprised if Robert Mars sleeps more than an hour a night. As both the full time design director of Zoo York and full time fine artist, he has managed to squeeze two full lives into one. With all that going on in his day-to-day though, he manages to remain friendly, positive, and [...]
