Typography Graphics | Dockers Word Play
Seeing the new Dockers ads using typography in shapes reminded me of some graphics I worked on last year with an artist out of Wisconsin named Aaron Gilmore. Where the Dockers ads merely fill a space, Aaron’s approach is to alter the actual letters, in shape and weight, to create highs and lows, giving his illustrations depth. Very tricky work indeed. His artwork is featured on sites such as Threadless, Designs By Humans, and Uneetee. Below is a small assortment from Aaron’s portfolio:
For those who know me, you understand why the above design is my favorite! It’s also the vehicle by which I became acquainted with Aaron’s work. Searching through Uneetee for some new T’shirts, I came across Aaron’s award-winning design of The Who. Very nice!
You can find Aaron through the below link or email him at gilmoreart@gmail.com. He’s a busy artist with a wide aesthetic range- and his signature typography designs are just the tip of the iceberg.

Hi, and thank you! The designs were actually created by Aaron Gilmore.
Not sure if I completely understand the question. Of the designs like The Who, the typography was created by hand over the top of an existing photo, filling in the shape and following the lines of the photo.
Cheers.
Your shape typhography so awesome…
May I ask you about shape typhography?
whether the shape typhograpy replace the shape in some desain?
example: I Love (with heart construct by many type) with I Love (with heart shape only)
