Oh, the fun and games! Everything in front of your eyes is geared to ratchet up the excitement and instill the mood of classic leisure time Americana. It sure worked for me as a kid – and my children now seem to be as hooked as I was at their age. Friends, fantastic rides, A-quality junk food, flashing lights and colorful signs calling to you from every direction.
Every Springtime the carnival comes to town, and this year like all others, we made the pilgrimage and joined in. For some reason, this year looked different to me. It was basically the same carnival as every year prior, but taking in the whole visual, I saw how well thought out and fully conceptualized it is. A real method to the madness.
From the colors, patterns, and painting styles to the fonts used in the signage- even the directional/warning signs evoke fun and a cheery attitude. Except maybe the High Voltage sign. They mean business with that one!
