If you love the looks and feel of the vintage Willy’s Jeeps, International Harvester Trucks, and Toyota Land Cruiser, but are looking for something a little more reliable (new), you may want to check into California’s own ICON. ICON is a privately held US auto manufacturer- all hand-built right in Los Angeles, California (just like American Apparel, but with trucks- and probably without the sexual harassment lawsuits against them).

These trucks are truly the Rolls Royce of their breed. Every aspect of the vehicles is made to order. As they mention on their site ” owning an ICON begins with a phone consultation wherein we review and configure an ICON that is right for your life.” Nice.  These babies don’t come cheap though, starting around $79,000.

ICON was started by Jonathan Ward and his wife Jamie in 2007 after more than ten years of running the country’s largest Land Cruiser service center, where they fell in love with the Cruiser’s classic styling and functionality.
