Quisp Cereal | Retro Goodness
Not that a cereal can define a childhood, but Quisp is definitely one of those memories that brings me back to a certain place and time. Maybe it’s the goofy art that I loved, or the comic on the back of the box, or maybe it’s just the full-sugar-cereal high that I was surely getting from eating the stuff that makes me nostalgic. Well lucky us, back on the market after nearly 30 years, Quisp is bringing sugar highs to a whole new generation of kids!
My sister obviously holds Quisp in the same regard as I do. As the ever-observant shopper that she is, my sister Laura noticed a small display of the baby blue boxes adorned with the pink alien at her grocery store and snapped up a couple. A day later, a beautifully wrapped package arrived at my door – like a little breakfast time capsule.
I love how Quaker has replaced the original description “The Vitamin Powered Sugary Cereal for QUAZY Energy”, with the more easy-to-sell-to-parents “Crunchy Corn Cereal”.

This cereal really does bring me back to a specific time in my childhood- full of great memories! My sister and I loved the comics on the boxes, the commercials, and absolutely the cereal.

This cereal has brought me many fun mornings before school, (oh, sooooo long ago), and on the weekends (with a family of 10 kids, wow, all that milk and cereal we went through?)…but THIS cereal gives me the most fond memories and a cool topic to quiz ‘other’ baby-boomers….didn’t you just love the alien with the beanie cap and the way the flying-saucer-shaped cereal held all that milk?…back then, you still could get farm-fresh milk with actual ‘cream’ on the top..delivered right to your front door? Those were the Good ‘ol days, for sure. Wish that cereal would come BACK on the market.
