Wine Labels | Graphic Research with a Bonus
Broadside and Hansom- both California Cabernet
When shopping for a bottle of wine, why not kill two birds with one stone? You’re there in search of a little vino, perusing the racks filled with hundreds of bottles with beautifully designed labels, you’re most likely carrying your phone/camera- so, voila- instant research opportunity (As long as the shopkeeper doesn’t mind). The nice gentleman at Leonard Park in Mt. Kisco, NY was very happy to share the floor while I snapped pictures.
The Prisoner Cabernet (Delicious) and Zin 91 Zinfandel- both California
Sledgehammer Zinfandel and Paso Creek Cabernet- both California
Cannonball Cabernet and Mirth Chardonnay- both California
Some Italian Whites: Arbazia di Novacella, Soave Pieropan, and Cantina Zaccagnini
Louis Jadot Pouilly Fuisse- France
Los Vascos Chilean Cabernet- very good and crazy value
French Red- Les Baux de Provence Mas De Gourgonnier
Layer Cake – South Australian Shiraz
Labrusca Lini 910- a little Italian bubbly
Francis Coppola Claret and Chardonnay- California. Not the most amazing labels, but Mr. Coppola made me an offer I couldn’t refuse.
Berardenza and Ruffino Chianti Classico- Italian
Langhe Barbaresco and Not Sure Of The Winery Barbaresco- Italian

That’s probably the idea with some of these- I guess its cheaper to upgrade the label than to upgrade the entire vineyard
Those designs are sweet. As you know, many times packaging is just as important as the contents. I can see how these would sell even if they were horrible. Thanks.
Right you are my brother! Sometimes I’m VERY wrong, but I often assume that the wine can’t be too bad if the winery put some effort into their labeling. Checking out your wine list at http://www.isabellasitalian.com Looks like I missed some good bottles in my post. Your menu looks fantastic too!
Now you’re talking my language – vino! Great shots of a lot of great wine bottles. We carry many of the bottles in your photos so I must be a sucker for good labels. A good label does not always mean good juice is in the bottle, but it certainly helps it get off the shelf.
