Guest Post | Pitch Design Union
I’d like to welcome our guest, designer and writer Margot Harrington of Pitch Design Union. I am a big fan of her work and very much appreciate her taking the time to share her creative eye and insight in the post below. Enjoy!
Jessica Taylor Caponigro is a new inspiring find of mine. Etching, screenprinting, spray painting, oil paint, resin… She uses lots of traditional artistic media to create pieces that feel a lot like fabric or textile design. Interestingly enough, she designs and sews her own line of bags too.
I recently received one of these well-priced beauties for my bday. They’re super well-made and sturdy, plus it’s got convertible straps so I can use it while I bike too. My favorites have interesting silhouettes with surprising detailing that’s not overly girly.
It’s just so interesting to me to see how someone’s artwork translates into fashion, seems like that’s a crossover that’s fairly uncommon.
Thanks for having me, Andrew! If you guys are into it, you can see more stuff like this at COLOURlovers, my own blog, and occasionally at Public School and Mint Design Blog.

Many Thanks Margot!

Yeah, really beautiful- very cool printing techniques. That Margot knows how to find ‘em!
I love the prints and the bags! They do make a perfect cool and unique bday gift. I’ll have to add this to my wish list
